| Jessi: うーん、Is the phrase "ゲームセンター" Japanese English? ゲームセンター。そうですね。英語だと、”game arcade” とか “arcade” になりますね。Game center sounds like Japanese English to me. It's usually called an arcade in English. |

| Jessi: トモユキさんはゲームセンターによく行きますか？Do you often go to game arcades? |
| Tomoyuki: うーん、中学生、高校生のときによく行っていましたね。 |
| Jessi: ああ、so when you were in junior high and high school, you went a lot. |
| Tomoyuki: はい、そうですね。いわゆる、音ゲーという音楽に合わせてドラムを叩いたり、踊ったりするゲームが好きでした。 |
| Jessi: ああ！音ゲー。So games that involve music or rhythm, drums, dancing, things like that. |

| Jessi: "ゲームセンター" is often shortened and called "ゲーセン". |

| Jessi: う～ん、これも和製英語、Japanese Englishなので…。 |
| Tomoyuki: はあ、そうですか。 |
| Jessi: はい。プリクラ is an abbreviation of “purinto kurabu” or "print club", which refers a photo sticker booth. But we don't say "print club" in English. |
| Tomoyuki: アメリカにもあるんですか？Do you have “purikura” in the states? |
| Jessi: There are some photo sticker machines around, but they're really simple ones. Basically, they haven't caught on in the States... you especially won't find the fancy ones that you do here. |
| Tomoyuki: ああ、そうですか。 |
| Jessi: はい。 |
| Tomoyuki: では、日本に来る機会があれば、ゲーセンでプリクラ撮ってみるといいかもしれませんよ。いいお土産になると思います。 |

| Jessi: Now, this sentence is already formal. But you you want to say it even more formal, replace “てください” with “てくださいますようお願いいたします” |
