Do you know how to write っ (chiisai tsu) in Japanese?
っ (chiisai tsu)
っ is written in 1 stroke. To write っ, imagine drawing a small wave with a flick at the end. It's a miniature version of つ, and it gives a pause before the next sound! Remember, it prolongs the consonant that follows it, emphasizing the word. Write a small っ for words like きっぷ to get the split-second stop.
Here are some examples.
