Hi, everyone! Have you ever had any trouble riding a train or subway in Tokyo, or want to know some future tips? Today, I'm going to show and explain some of the important signs you see in Tokyo inside of the station. Let's go! |
So we are at Yotsuya station. |
These colorful tiny circles assigned for the Tokyo Metro line. |
Yotsuya is on Marunouchi line. So, it’s a capital M for Marunouchi. |
So this one, 銀座線の頭文字のG。(Ginza-sen no kashiramoji no jī.) |
(Kore wa Ōedo-sen no ō ga sūji no zero ni mieru kara da sō desu.) |
(Sō, machigaenai yō ni, Ōedo-sen no ō.) |
E sign. |
(De kono Mita-sen mo, marunouchi-sen ga emu nano de, sore to kaburanai yō ni Mita no ai desu.) |
So, of course, each station has a name but they put numbers as well, to make it easier for people from all the overseas. |
(Koko ga Marunouchi-sen no shihatsu dakara, Marunouchi zero wan.) |
2,3,4,5,6,7 |
So, 所要時間 (shoyō jikan), it means how long does it take from here. |
So these numbers are how many minutes it will take from this station. |
So from Yotsuya station to Yotsuya-sanchome station will take two minutes. |
So this one is a timetable for weekday, and this red one is timetable for Saturday and holidays. |
These are hours, like five o'clock, six o'clock, seven o'clock, and these are the minutes. |
Okay, so this is the platform door, to save your life from the train. |
(Noridasanai.) “Please don’t lean over the platform door.” |
(Tatekakenai.) “Please don’t prop anything against the platform door. |
(Kakekomanai.) “Please don’t rush into the train.” Many people does anyway. |
(Tachiiranai.) “Please keep out.” |
So this one is 非常停止ボタン "emergency stop button." |
If you see someone falling down on the railway, press this button. |
If you need a train map or Metro grid map, normally each station has it. It's free to get. |
This is 駅係員呼出インターホン (eki kakari’in yobidashi intaahon). |
But don’t push this except for emergency. |
So we're going to JR. |
(Jeiāru yotsuya-eki hōmen kaisatsu ni ikimasu.) |
(Deguchi acchi desu. Ikimashō.) |
Thank you for watching. |
(Atashi-tachi wa mata, densha ni modoritai to omoimasu.) |
(Jā ne, baibai.) |
