Hi Jobi,

Thank you for your comment!

Yes, there are many 100-yen shops in Japan.

Daiso (ใƒ€ใ‚คใ‚ฝใƒผ), Seria (ใ‚ปใƒชใ‚ข) and Can Do (ใ‚ญใƒฃใƒณใƒ‰ใ‚ฅ) are the most famous ones.

Now 300-yen shops are also popular in Japan.

Please also try ๏ผ“COINS (ใ‚นใƒชใƒผใ‚ณใ‚คใƒณใ‚บ) and CouCou (ใ‚ฏใ‚ฅใ‚ฏใ‚ฅ) when you come to Japan next time๐Ÿ˜Š

Hope you enjoy learning Japanese with us:)

Sincerely,

Miho

I been to Japan 4x and quite familiar in Tokyo and Sapporo. Thank you!

"Irasshaimase" means "welcome" and it's used when you enter a restaurant or a shop.

Please let us know if you have any question :)

He said something like - irashaimasu. What does this mean?

Hi Salim,

Thank you for the comment!

The shop clerk sounds a bit annoyed because it's a 100 yen shop and the customer keeps asking the price.

When customers ask obvious questions like this repeatedly in Japan, I can see shop some clerks react in the similar way.

Sincerely,

Miki H

Thank you for the lesson. I enjoyed the almost sarcastic tone of the shopkeepers voice. Would this still be considered polite in Japanese?

Nice easy conversation, but... I refuse to believe any of the items in that shop cost only 100 yen xD ใพใ•ใ‹๏ผ
