おかあさんはおげんきですか。 (O-kā-san wa o-genki desu ka.)
Imagine she’s great. Do you remember how to say “great?”
まあまあ (māmā), まあまあ (māmā)
Say “She’s great.”
とてもげんきです。 (Totemo genki desu.)
Now answer the question saying she’s great.
おかあさんはおげんきですか。 (O-kā-san wa o-genki desu ka.)
とてもげんきです。 (Totemo genki desu.)
Now imagine she’s so-so. Do you remember how to say “so-so?”

Say “She’s so-so.”

Now answer the question saying she’s so-so.

Now imagine she’s not good. Do you remember how to say “not good?”
げんきじゃない (genki ja nai), げんきじゃない (genki ja nai)
Say “She’s not good.”
元気じゃないです。 (Genki ja nai desu.)
Now answer the question saying she’s not good.
おかあさんはおげんきですか。 (O-kā-san wa o-genki desu ka.)
元気じゃないです。 (Genki ja nai desu.)
