| Kat: 引き出す (hikidasu) is "to withdraw (money)". This word, 引き出す (hikidasu) is made up of two verbs put together. |

| Kat: 引く (hiku) means “to pull” and secondly? |
| Naomi: 出す (dasu) |
| Kat: Which means “to take out.” The masu-stem of this verb, 引き出し (hikidashi) is used as a noun meaning “withdrawal (of money).” |
| Naomi: じゃ、銀行で便利な単語を勉強しましょうか。(Ja, ginkō de benri na tango o benkyō shimashō ka.) |
| Kat: That's a really good idea. Let us introduce some useful vocabulary at a bank. |

| Kat: ございます (gozaimasu) is the polite way of saying the verb ある (aru) “to have”, “to exist (of inanimate thing)”. Now, Naomi-sensei, how do you say "I have a question"? |
| Naomi: 質問がある。(Shitsumon ga aru.) |
| Kat: Replace ある (aru) with ございます (gozaimasu). |
| Naomi: 質問がございます。(Shitsumon ga gozaimasu.) |
| Kat: This is the very polite way to say that you have a question. |
| Naomi: あります (arimasu) is the masu-form of the verb ある (aru), so...質問があります (shitsumon ga arimasu) is polite but 質問がございます (shitsumon ga gozaimasu) is even more polite. |
