| Peter: Now they call someone who is not good at Mahjong. |

| Peter: There it is. And what is this? |
| Natsuko: Victim. |
| Peter: Yes, but what’s the literal translation? |
| Natsuko: Oh it’s Duck. |
| Peter: Duck. Break it down for us. |

| Peter: Yeah, I asked my friend why do you say duck for a person who is easy to beat. They said because the duck is very easy to catch and tastes delicious. |
| Natsuko: There is a saying called, カモがネギしょってやって来る (kamo ga negi shotte yatte kuru) |
| Peter: Hah! What does it mean? |
| Natsuko: Duck carries a leak to you. So it means just take it and make it into 鍋 (nabe). |

| Peter: Okay, and this is |

| Peter: So yeah, you might want to stick with the お (o). |
| Natsuko: Yeah, you better. |
| Peter: Oh Natsuko said, you better do it. Okay, next we have. |

| Peter: Very important word. |
| Natsuko: Yes. |
| Peter: This is |
| Natsuko: Necessary. |
| Peter: Necessary. Okay, break it down. |

| Peter: Now a popular construction with this word is 何々が必要です。(Naninani ga hitsuyō desu.) |

| Peter: This time or next time. |
| Natsuko: Yes, both meanings. (slow)こんど (kondo) |

| Natsuko: 今度 (kondo) |
| Peter: For example, in the dialogue we said |
| Natsuko: また今度 (mata kondo) |
| Peter: Now they both invited each other to do things. |
| Natsuko: Uhoo… |
| Peter: And it didn’t work out so in this sense, また今度 (mata kondo) means next time. |
| Natsuko: Yes. |
| Peter: The literal translation, this time coming up. |
| Natsuko: Yes. |
| Peter: Because the characters are this and time. |
| Natsuko: Yes. |
| Peter: So it’s actually this time approaching which when we translate into English with the nuance gets next time. |

| Natsuko: Yes, and usually used in occasions that you don’t want to define when. |

| Natsuko: So 今度 (kondo) can mean anytime, you know, anytime next. |
