do student organisations exist?

Postby Yoshiko » December 17th, 2006 2:20 pm

Hi! I see my last post didn't have any replies. (I asked for design or art students)
I mailed some art universities and they mailed me back about the students: no time, they don't speak english, they are not organised.

Now the last thing surprised me. I asked if they could put me in contact with a student organisation. they didn't have one.

Is it just these two universities, or are there no student organisations in Japan?

student clubs are huge here.
i think students devote more time to their clubs than to their coursework.

i haven't read your last post. but maybe try some bigger schools, that have decent international student services and direct your query through them?

Arigatou!
I mailed to quite big art universities. And one of them, Kyoto Seika University, present themselves as being really 'international'.
My last post was about the fact that I search for design students.

But now I can ask directly for a student club.

Ah, a ninja club? If there was one at my school I would be a member ;) at my brothers university they made a movie called 'campus ninja'.
The actors were from the student's martial arts club.
I'll try Osaka.

Yeah that was one my girlfriend told me about, haha, she thought it was pretty stupid, haha.

I'm sure there are many more.

but also consider, that going to College is a hobby for some students in Japan.
