Question about 持ってくる

Hello everyone, I'm going through Genki and I ran across the sentence: 何か持っていきましょうか。

My question is about the 持っていきましょう. The verb here is 持ってくる correct? Why is the い in there? Does it have something to do with 行く？ Thanks!
