ロシンsan, マイケルsan,
thank you for the help, マイケルsan!
I probably couldn't be sure how to read Rhosyn
If the accent is on Rho-, it could be longer sound: ローシン [roo shin].
Whichever you like, Rhosyn-san

I think Dempsey is デンプシー (de-n-pu-shi-i). The "n" is pronounced like "m" so your name is pronounced like "dempushii". The same thing happens with "tempura": it's spelled "te-n-pu-ra" but the "n-pu" is pronounced like "m-pu".

Dempsey-san, マイケルsan,
kon'nichiwa! :D
Thank you, マイケルsan! I agree with you

Sometimes (for some reason) the family name(s) ending with -sey/-say are written also as ゼイ [ze i]
like the world famous chef Gordon Ramsay (ラムゼイ). I wouldn't trabscribe his name as ラムゼイ, but
it seems this could be a possibility for you too, Dempsey-san.

My name is Aija and in English it is pronounced eye-ya and I can't figure out what my name would be in Japanese. I just started studying and only know about half Hiragana so far, I'm learning to read and write first then words and phrases. Thanks.

Hello Aiya,

in your case I would say that your name in japanese would be アイヤ: a-i-ya. :)

I hope that helps.

Best

皆さんこんにちは!
Hello everyone ^^

My name in Mattia and i'm from italy.
I don't know much about names but recently i've been trying to find a kanji that "fits" my name (as for pronunciation).
if i had to write my name in kana it would probably sound like : マッテイア (used katakana to mark the foreign sound) but i had no luck in finding a kanji there... so i started to look at my nickname, Matthew, which sounds more or less like : ましゅう.
i was all happy because i found those 2 kanji 真 (ま kun-yomi) 修 (しゅう kan'on-yomi) but now i have a doubt, when i put them together, what "reading" should i use? i recall from some class that most of the time when 2 kanji form a single word, the on-yomi reading is prefered... if that's the case, is there any other kanji combination i can use?

ありがとうございます
thank you in advance
(=^.^=)

Hello mattiapavinati8647 san (マッティアさん、真修さん)
If it’s a name, it doesn’t matter.
真修 is read ましゅう.
I think you chose good kanjis, 真 means ‘real’ and 修 means ‘correct, learn and so on’.

My name is Tommy, so would I be correct in assuming it would be トミー? I'm also having trouble figuring out what McDonald might be, which is my last name.

What is my first name (Erik) in Japanese? My friend says it's エリック but I'm just double checking here. Thank you.
