Un-Official Japanese Study Group!

Postby dragonfire4555967 » July 15th, 2010 8:25 am

Since everyone requests, and nobody really receives, I've taken the liberty of setting up a study group for everyone. To get into it, you must have Skype. And you must add me (my username is shatteredinsides). You will be added. We accept all newcomers and intermediated (hell even expert) people learning Japanese. If you do not know Hiragana and Katakana, we shall link you to some references and great study guides. as learning the kana are essential, and should be your first step into this language.

Please join, and post your suggestions / critiques.

Thanks,

~Kyle

Sounds like something I would like to get in on. There aren't any classes or workshops even close to where I live.

Couple questions:
1. When does the study group get together?
2. And for how long?
3. Would it start from the basics, or is it sort of like a combined learning depending on skill level?

I'm still learning the Kana, so any resource for learning it would be great. :)
(I'm working on Hiragana right now. I haven't even looked at Katakana yet.)

I'd love to find out more about the study group.
Thanks,
Audy

Couple answers:
1. 24-7
2. 24-7. We also do voice calls to deeply discuss what we learn. Practice vocabulary, etc.
3. It's all combined. some people are new, some people already know 500 Kanji. We all share information when asked. It's very fun.

Our activities are fun, so they keep you immersed in the learning environment. They range from Vocab drills, Kanji study, Manga and Anime translation (without any English), study like that.

Hope this has helped :3

I am so glad someone started this. I was looking around for something like this. I was half tempted to start a tread and ask about it.

I sent you a message on Skype. I hope to hear from you soon.

Congratulation for the initiative!
I think it's something that most people was waiting/looking for.

I've already sent an invitation.

BTW is it better to be using Skype 4 or the 5 beta?

Thanks. :)

I would suggest beta, because it allows so many more features and bug fixes. Well anywyas, please spread the news. If possible, I'd like this to be famous and not die :3
