MySQL crashes in forum

Is anyone else getting these? It has been happening almost every time I go into a different forum:

General Error

Could not obtain user/online information

DEBUG MODE

SQL Error : 2006 MySQL server has gone away

Sorry for the error. Are you still getting it? I tried to reproduce it by browsing the forum, but could not. If you're still experiencing this issue, can you please post the exact steps you're taking to produce it.

Yes, I'm still getting it. I tend to skim through the main forum topics looking for ones with today's date. I click each, which launch off requests in multiple Firefox tabs... maybe 1/2 fail to complete and I get the error that I posted. It's probably happening because there is more than one load occurring at the same time.

Occasionally I'll get this when I load the forum for the first time in a session when I have a persistent log-in setup. When I reload the page it goes away. Maybe this has something to do with storing session IDs?

Just a shot in the dark. I'm glad it doesn't happen enough to me to be really irritating.

old thread. sorry to resurrect it, but it's a very similar problem.
i notice at different times in the afternoon and evenings that all portions of jpod101 site especially the forum just take forever to load. Wasn't sure if anyone else has been experiencing this. My browser will hang at 90%, loading, for a few minutes before displaying this error. I've been experiencing this from 2 separate computers on 2 different ISPs. It's to the point where I have to try to get back in 15-20+ mins later. One machine is set to auto login, on os x 10.5, firefox, and a cable connection. The other is set to not auto login, on xp, IE8, and T1. It's been tolerable so far because I can just keep going off the DVD you guys sent me, but that won't last for much longer.

Any ideas?
