standard font in browser

Hi,
I have a problem displaying japanese fonts in my browser.
They display but the font windows uses to do so is not very clear.
That makes the kanji and kana very hard to read...

I tried changing the font to use in japanse text in Firefox but that didn't help.
Its probably a setting in windows as it is the same font that is used in MSN Messenger when there is japanese text displayed there.

I searched the forum but couldn't find anything pointing me in the right direction.
Any ideas?
