Invitations

Postby dpaint4 » July 19th, 2006 6:12 pm

I'd like to learn how to informally invite people to coffee with me and such. "Do you want to go out for some coffee?" Or how to politely offer things to friends. "Would you like some coffee; I just made some." There seems to be lots of taking and no giving in the lessons so far. I'd like to be a giver as well.

I'm not talking about come-on's or dating. I just mean ways to be a friend.

Also informal things like, if someone is at my apartment, and they see something they like and comment on it, and I don't use it much, how can I give it to them and override the politeness factor of them refusing it?
