Japanese for inlaws

Postby DanRoddy » November 28th, 2006 1:45 pm

How about a survival lesson for surviving family get togethers?

A short run in of language aimed at entirely non-speakers making a good impression. Okay, so it would doubtless regurgitate ever-so-simple material from elsewhere, but there have to be a few folk out there, like me, who have parents who don't know the first thing about Japanese and have dismissed it as being just too difficult ("why couldn't you marry a French girl?").

Take it down, burn it on CD and stick it in their car stereo, and lo! and behold a new era in Anglo-Japanese relations.

After all, it might prompt them to think "Well, if I can learn that much, maybe I can learn a little more." And if their "teacher" has been good, where are they going to go for more, eh?
