What's funny about tamagoyaki?

I've seen quite a few anime shows where a character tries to make tamagoyaki and it goes very badly wrong.

I can tell from context that this is supposed to be a humorous situation, but I wonder if, to the Japanese eye, it's funnier because it's tamagoyaki.

I've made tamagoyaki a few times, and, because I am a terrible cook and it still turns out well, I feel confident in asserting that making tamagoyaki is easy (though I'm sure a large part of the reason my tamagoyaki is delicious is because our eggs are provided by our own chickens rather than bought from a store). But in these shows, I've never heard anyone say "You can even get tamagoyaki wrong" or anything like that. Maybe they don't say that because that would ruin the joke by explaining it too much. I don't know.

So my question is: Is tamagoyaki a cultural symbol for something that's very easy in Japan, or anything like that? Or does this joke just rely on experience of making tamagoyaki?

I think that many Japanese people think cooking tamagoyaki is easy and tamagoyaki became synonymous with easy cooking dish in Japan.
