こんにちはリチャード、
I've been using Crunchyroll for my anime and Drama watching. There are some fantastic shows on there that are certainly worth watching that are quite easy to follow vocab wise. I highly recommend Wakako Zake and Great Teacher Onizuka. Both of them are funny.
Wakako Zake is a slice of life where an everyday worker goes out every night to have fun, but instead of your typical entertainment, her entertainment is going to restaurants and eating new things - if you plan to visit Tokyo any time then this series is great to figure out where to go.

Great Teacher Onizuka (GTO) is another slice of life show where a no-hope teacher is brought in to sort out class 2-4 only to have them constantly plot to get him fired. It's unbelievably hilarious but at the same time quite touching.

If you want a really big laugh but at the same time but wonder how some food is cooked, then watch Shokugeki no Soma - just be aware that the title is rather over the top! So watch the first few episodes alone first but the series was one of, if not, the best from last year.
