Japanese and Hobbies

Postby Mini_Apocalypse » June 17th, 2008 9:37 pm

Ok i've had a quick look and couldnt find a post so far so...

Sometime in the future i hope to move to and work in japan but in my spare time i focus quite abit on my hobbies. (photography, gardening, cross stitch and card craft are some of my main hobbies). I was wondering, am i going to find it dificult to find supplies? Are these hobbies common in japan? What hobbies are popular in japan?

Thanks

Well Japanese are avid photographers so no trouble there - plenty of stores to support that addiction!

For the others you mention a good all round store would be somewhere like Tokyo Hands. Also there is another one called yuzawa I think (something like that) that has a good habidashary. Also there are many boutique shops for wool, buttons, yarn etc

Gardening can be a challenge if you are in a metropolitan area! But in the suburbs there are still many allotment type places where for a small fee (and a long waiting list) you can grow your veggies etc
