Going to Japan in July, whats a good way to find a homestay?

Hey everyone

So im heading to Japan in July as the subject says and I was wondering if anyone knows how to get in touch with any good homestay families or homestay family providers? Im going more for getting into the culture and everyday life of Japan then anything else really, although I would still like to do some sight seeing. Getting to know the people and sharing cultures is the main priority though.

Im planning on going for about 12ish days and I live in New Zealand if that infomation helps with anything.

Any advice on this would be great

Thanks for the fast reply! Ive had a look at the whole couch surfing thing and it does look pretty awesome.

Anyone else know how to get into any actual homestay families though? Couch surfing looks really awesome and all but I think for my first time I might rather be with a family...

Any ideas would be awesome!
