Maximum temperature in Tokyo - April/May

Postby blackspirit » February 18th, 2009 12:37 pm

Hi,

I'm thinking of travelling to Japan in late April or early May.

Could someone tell me the maximum temperature it gets to in Tokyo around that time?

All I can find are average maximums, which seems to be 23 degrees.

Here in Melbourne the average maximum is 26 in summer, but that doesn't tell you that it actually gets to 45 degrees on the hottest days.

Maybe that can help. the highest recorded temp in tokyo as of 2004 was in july and was 39.5. So i'd guess it shouldn't break that in april and may.

Thanks for that, it did help me on the right path, searching for temperature records.

Ended up finding this site:
http://www.tutiempo.net/en/Climate/Tokyo/476620.htm

Which gives temperature data of Tokyo back to 1952!

Good stuff :D

Here's a good chart of the temperatures in Tokyo throughout the year

http://www.wordtravels.com/Cities/Japan/Tokyo/Climate

April/May looks like a good time to go as the temperatures are reasonable and the rainfall is okay.

I have been to Japan once in August and that was terrible - humid, wet and hot. I'm from QLD but it was worse than our summer.

The best time I have been is early November. Nice and cool and very little rain.

Enjoy your trip!
