Hiragana 'puter typing: the little っ, not the big つ etc.

Postby pilgrimpictures » July 21st, 2010 6:20 pm

I am doing the lessons, trying to type the "Japanese translation."

I know what the answer is, but cannot display it (as I'm missing some typing information).

For example:

I want to type, "まっすぐ(な)," but when I type, the little "っ" remains a big "つ," and I end up getting "まつすぐ," which of course (hehehe >>> もちろん) is always ( =) >>> いつも) wrong (ちがいます).

" まつすぐ " が もちろん いつも ちがいます です ね。

たすくて、ください。

Please, what とくべつな keys should I type to get the little "っ"?

'l' or 'x' before applicable letters will result in small characters. Applicable letters being t(s)u, ya, yu, yo, a, i, u, e o.
so lt(s)u, lya, lyu, lyo, la, li, lu, le, lo.

However, particular ones also have shortcuts for how they're commonly used and represented in roman script. Small ya, yu, and yo generally follow ki, shi, etc, and so can be produced by typing, say, 'kyo' or the like instead of 'kilyo'.

Similarly, lt(su) is usually used to represent a glottal stop, which is represented in romaji as a double consonant. So, typing massugu is the same as typing maltusugu or maltsusugu.
