A few questions!

Postby TheThird » July 28th, 2015 11:02 pm

If you were talking about a date, would you say "I'm going on a date" like with "ikimasu" or would you (like with class) say "I have a date" with "arimasu"? I might be wrong on more than one account, so sorry!

This has probably been brought up millions of times, but do you guys know of any games, shows, and books that are on like a baby level that might be good to help me understand Japanese better? I'm not specific on any of these things, shows, videos, whatever as long as it's accurate. (I once read this little book that a Japanese woman showed me. It was a children's book about staying up too late and being taken away by a ghost! D:)

I've heard of "Watashitachi", but I have also heard "Name-tachi" for saying "we" I feel like the latter is talking in 3rd person almost in a cutesy way, but I'm not sure.

Thank you, whoever you are!!

TheThird san,
Konnichiwa.
‘’ deeto ni ikimasu” and “deeto o shimasu can be used to express “I'm going on a date”

Regarding the second question, please visit the website below.
It will introduce many tools and online materials to you.

I think “we” is always “watashitachi.”
“name tachi” is used for “you (plural).”

Yuki san,

Konnichiwa!

I'm a little confused on what you mean by "you (plural)" as in "name tachi". I'm sorry to ask so much, but is there an example or some way that I can better understand how to use this? Is it proper to sometimes use "name tachi"?

Thank you

The Third

TheThird san,
Konnichiwa.

For example,
Yamada san, tanaka san, watanabe san and Suzuki san are there.
And you call all of them ‘yamada san tachi’ which means ‘yamada san and others (all of you).’
So it means plural.
