Is it read as なんしょく or なにいろ?

Also, is 何色 commonly used? Or is どの色 more common?

For example

B) どの色が好きですか？

2) What color bag should I buy?
A) 何色の鞄を買ったらいいですか？
B) どの色の鞄を買ったらいいですか？

It depends on the situation.
When you want to know how many colours, you should use なんしょく.
When you want to know which colour, you should use なにいろ.

1) What is your favorite color?
A) 何色（なにいろ）が好きですか？
B) どの色が好きですか？
2) What color bag should I buy?
A) 何色(なにいろ)の鞄を買ったらいいですか？
B) どの色の鞄を買ったらいいですか？

When you use なにいろ, it indicates there are various colour choices.
When you use どのいろ, it sounds the number of colour is smaller than なにいろ.
