返事 vs. 返信

返事 seems to be more popular based on search amounts so what should 返信 be used for then?

返事を待ちます。。。

返信 is specific to written replies. letters, email, fax.

返事 is also used for a verbal reply, response or answer.

To me 返信 seems more technical, (business reply mail, return postage etc) whereas 返事 seems more general and conversational.
