Bringing it all together

Postby ta104mor7845 » July 26th, 2010 3:17 am

Over many years I have started and stopped learning Japanese. Never learned spoken so I could not understand anything said to me or movie dialog. I would soon forget kanji or vocabulary I had learned. I found many dictionaries which I use and even have NJ Star on my computer so I can write letters and try to translate magazine articles. I have started at the beginning of Japanesepod101 and I am working through the beginner, survival, culture and kanji lessons in order.
What is the difference between beginner and newbie? Does Beginner season 2 or 3 repeat your original beginner series? I subscribe to the Hiragana Times which I enjoy. Also, bought the book Mangaland volume 2 which deals with particles.
I am a concierge at a condo near Seattle. One of my residents a few years ago was a famous Japanese baseball star. When he first moved in, I tried to increase my Japanese knowledge. I used some basic phrases but Japanesepod101 would have been a better place to learn. Thank you for this website. Your website helps to fill in all the blanks and reenforces what I learned over the years.
