Hello everyone!

I usually seen the following kind of expression specially when reading formal writings or articles:

新たなる世界
外なる異物
大いなる存在

I'd like to know what's exactly the meaning of NARU here and in which cases I can use this expressions. I'm a little confused because I've seen how some people translate for example, 新たなる世界 as "A new world", then, what's the difference with "ATARASHII SEKAI", or is it just a polite and formal way to say the same thing.

The meaning of naru here is much the same as "na" or "no". I found some material on it on page 618 of Martin's Reference Grammar of Japanese: Google books link

I've asked natives about this myself and the general answer has been that it's just a semi-archaic sounding way of using na adjectives. The usages I've seen so far have been consistent with this, so I guess it really is that simple.
