Online One-on-One Teacher Experiences

Postby tylercole » December 1st, 2009 6:33 pm

Hello everyone,

I am thinking about trying to find someone to teach me Japanese over Skype (or similar), but I have absolutely no idea on where to begin. I was hoping people could tell me what their experience was like, the cost, and even recommendations on people who do this.

I'm ready to begin, but have absolutely no idea on where to begin! Especially with finding someone who will teach me! :?

Thanks for all of your help!

My expecience is a good one - my teacher sends me lessons via email and we then go through the lessons online via a chat program using microphone and headphones.

I have learnt a lot this way, and as my teacher is going to stay with me for 3 months I should be learning a lot faster :)

Edit:
I forgot to add - the Japan Guide forum is a good place to post an ad for a pen pal / language teacher: http://www.japan-guide.com/local/?aCAT=2
