Actually in one lesson
All about #2 ,
Peter and Naomi explain Japanese writing system.
Technical term is Polysyllabic script.
For most people on west pronunciation is difficult but Peter say "Imagine big chart with vowels on top and consonant on side" .(Sorry Naomi and Peter sensei , I try to write from my memory, if I wrong write my apologize.)
OK for me this is natural pronunciation, for many other not .
Sidday first learn kana, advice Hiragana first, and Katakana then, do not worry only difference writing same pronunciation. 46 basic voices for start ,when you practice good basic 46 signs , learn extended kana.(not too much only 109)
If you can access learning center you can practice all Hiragana and Katakana , you can chose between 3 male and 3 female speaker . Some Hiragana have meaning some not,
example め or romaji me ,, mean eye (not specified one or two)
example は or romaji ha ,,mean teeth
Look easy, yes if you know pronaunce any kana characters. But do not loose unnecessary time, learn on proper way.
For people who not familiar with syllabic pronunciation , not easy on paper(post) explain Japanese pronunciation. Only one solution, listen Japanese speakers , and try to say , repeat after them. People from some countries normally copy Japanese pronunciation.
(In my language is many voices exact like in Japanese, even more)
If you have no access to learning center, found Hiragana and Katakana chart on some free web and practice.
After you remember all kana. You can start with kanji or 漢字 Before it's no point, you must know Hiragana and Katakana, every kanji have 2 readings , one Japanese one Chinese.
Many people never understand Hiragana or Katakana , everything try to continue only using romaji.
Wrong way
Good luck!
