Concept of ukemi not brought up in a lesson

Postby amost » July 9th, 2009 10:11 pm

I have recently been puzzled about a concept in ukemi until today, so I thought I might share it here just in case anyone else has been wondering the same thing, or can contribute any extra information that I have not included.

間違いが直せる婚約者がいるという点で私はラーキーです

So in ukemi, the doer of the action is marked by に (誰かに何かされた) of course, and also the indirect object for places (どこかに連れて行かれた)and you can use them together in an ukemi sentence (example: 誰かにどこかに連れて行かれた)

しかし!!

What if your destination _is_ a person... like in the english sentense (I was taken TO [person])

The only japanese translation I could think of was "「人」に連れて行かれた"
But in that case, do you know if you were taken TO the person? or BY the person?

I was told that you would use 人のところ in that case. So it seems you can only be taken to places in japanese... ?
