いらっしゃる vs おいでになる

I recently saw this sentence on a webpage written by native Japanese speakers:
水曜日においでになることをお勧めします。
I recommend you come/go on Wednesday.

I looked up おいでになる, and it means honorific "to come/go/be", but いらっしゃるmeans the same thing and is also honorific. Is there any difference between the two? よろしくお願いします。

For those who don't want to/can't read it, I'll sum it up in English. Basically, they mean the same thing but お出でになる is more likely to be used in written Japanese. It is also slightly more polite (I guess because it is less direct). It's also somewhat old fashioned.
