J-Pod 101 and Anki

Postby stevesayskanpai » October 29th, 2008 9:01 am

Hi all!

I posted this in tech problems as well, but thought some of you might have feedback too.
I've just signed up for a subscription, and wanted to be able to cut and paste the text from the pdfs into Anki, a spaced recognition programme. However when I cut and paste from my Foxit reader the Japanese comes out as meaningless characters- ਎⇇৻๟ for example!

I would really rather not download Adobe's bloated Acrobat reader if I can avoid it, so was wondering if anyone else had this issue with Foxit, or if there is any work around.

Combining the pdfs with Anki is a really good study method I reckon.

Cheers!

I've resorted to simple typing before. Then I've used Audacity to chop up the podcasts into sentences, that I can use as audio flashcards.

Very useful, but bloody time-consuming. So I'll be keeping an eye on this thread.
