How do I let someone know that I hope something turns out a certain way?
For example:
"I hope you get the job" or
"I hope you can go to Japan"
I'd like to be able to wish someone well, but I don't know the construction. Thanks!

Try:
〜といい/〜と良い (If 〜 it will be good.)
仕事に就くと良いと思います。(I think it would be good if [you] got the job.)
This construction can sometimes be used as a mild command, however. The above statement could also be translated as:
"I think you'd better get that job."
