Newbie Lesson Stroke Order

Postby PaintedLiLy » October 7th, 2008 7:40 am

Hello,
I'm still pretty new to this. I have my Kanji practice sheet, but it doesn't indicate stroke order. Is that anywhere on this site? I can see the beginning of strokes in the character, so I know which way they're going...I just don't know what order their supposed to go in. Any information is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I'm not certain there are stroke order diagrams on this site.

There was a previous post discussing how it might be implemented in the pdfs.

However knowing the basic rules is probably more useful long term.

also
there is this stroke order font.

and PNG stroke order diagrams from Kanji Café (used by a number of dictionary readers and sites)

or look the kanji up in a dictionary reader. JEDict on the Mac uses Kanji Café's SOD pictures.

Jim Breen's Dictionary site has stroke order diagrams if you can find them, it doesn't have the friendliest of interfaces.

If you enjoy kanji and have a Nintendo DS I recommend Kakitorikun which amongst other things has stroke order diagrams and is strict in making you follow the order when taking its quizzes.
