How to thank someone for a specific thing

So going a little beyond just thanks, is there any particular particles that I should be using when thanking someone for something?

If you could please help me translate these two sentences with a little bit of reasoning as to why its written like that it would be greatly appreciated:

Thank you for the gift.

Thank you for taking me to Disneyland.

Yeah, there are. For straight-up things you can use を(wo) where you would use "for" in English. For doing an action you use the て(te) form, plus an honorific, and then "thank you." For thanks in advance, "yoroshiku onegaishimasu" (this favor) or "o-sewa ni narimasu" (an assortment of favors) are appropriate to my understanding. For your three lines, I'd suggest the following:

I'm not at the level that I even know what mess you're talking about (Can read well enough yet to follow a conversation) but it occurs to me that this is the place to make mistakes and learn from... There's plenty of people to correct you and if you get something wrong here, does it -really- matter? I say, keep right on answering questions and don't feel bad if someone corrects you.
