Where to start...

Postby gaijin333 » May 6th, 2008 10:39 pm

Hello, I just started JapanesePod101 and I don't know where to begin. I have some experience with Japanese.
I know the kana, JLPT4-3 kanji and 500-600 vocabulary but I have never spoken Japanese to anyone before so I wanted to know where I should start. I was thinking beginner but I am not quite sure. どうもありがとうございます!

It really depends. Take a listen and see if it is too easy for you. You can always easily download the intermediate ones if you need to.

Could I do both? Or would that be to confusing?

I think he's saying to try to listen to both and then choose the one more appropriate to your level.

You could do both, but if you are at an intermediate level the beginner lessons would probably be too easy for you, right?

Exactly what I meant. No one is stopping you from doing both, the lessons build on each other obviously but after you listen to a few of each difficulty you will find which level you should be on.

No one is stopping you from doing both,

a lot of listeners actually listen to everything regardless of level.

we designed this site with an intentional methodology, but truth be told, people have their own ways. and this is not a classroom setting, so it's really very flexible.

one thing i'd love to see is listener recommended curricula. :D
