i - Adjectives

Postby Lostaholic » October 1st, 2007 5:02 pm

Hey I have a question about i - Adjectives;

If you use 2 of them in a row you get:
Anata wa ureshikute tanoshii desu

but what if:
Anata wa ureshikunai tanoshikunai desu
how do you connect these 2?

regards tibo

The ~て form of ない, なくて, is used to connect i-adjectives, so it would be:

あなたは、うれしくなくて、たのしくないです

This is covered in the beginner lessons fairly early on, but if you've been following the newbie lessons, it'll probably be coming up.

By the way, うれしい is generally used to describe your own feelings, to describe somebody else's (apparent) happiness, you use うれしそうな. If you're not familiar with ~そうだ yet I wouldn't worry too much about that though.
