Hi!
I'm sorry you haven't had a reply yet since I'd probably need the same kind of assistance in the future.
I've been studying Japanese on and off for 12 years now, but mostly "off"

Since it always has been studying on my own, reading online or using a few books, I found it difficult to stay motivated when other things kept me busy as well. So I've restarted time and time again, but lately I really feel like taking a proper shot at it. This has lead to me being above "absolute beginner", and maybe somewhere in the middle of "beginner". But I don't want to jump into something halfway! So I'm going through the easy lessons even though it's all repetition. Repetition is more useful than you think, often.
Now, what am I doing? I'm following the "My Pathway" that was suggested when I registered to the site. There I follow a "learning path" called "Mastering Japanese: Level 1" (There's no Level 2 yet... I hope it's coming). You can find it here: https://www.japanesepod101.com/learning-paths/mastering-level-1-japanese/
This is a course that picks out lessons here and there from different seasons and levels, both audio and video. Sometimes having you watch episode 50 of season 3, followed by episode 3 from season 1, and back to episode 49 of season 3... I want to believe that it's done on purpose to make the learning the most effective.
If you start that one now though, you'll be repeating a lot (again) but you can just skip the parts that you feel are too easy, and review the parts that you know well but not perfectly
Good Luck!
