Short sentence translated to English?

Postby KattyPear » March 26th, 2016 5:21 am

HI sorry to bother--I have just a quick question and was wondering if there was someone a bit more experienced than myself to translate it to English?

The sentence is: "ひよりとがいいんだーーー!"

ひより in this case is the name of a girl.

Context: It is said by someone begging Hiyori to stay and watch a parade with him, if it helps.

I've more or less understood what it says, but I still can't make sense of it in the context?

So sorry if this is a really stupid question, but any help would be appreciated!

I translate it as "It's so good with Hiyori (you)," which makes sense to me given the situation. Is there something in particular that is causing confusion?

Ahh, ok ok! I'm so glad, then, that my own translation was actually correct!

What caused the confusion is that a fellow Japanese/English speaker originally translated it as something like "but I want to watch it with you!"
Obviously I couldn't find "見てたい" or "でも" ect ect, so now I suppose they were more generally translating it!

Honestly, thank you so much for the help--I just wanted another opinion to make sure I didn't get anything wrong!

Have a wonderful day <3
