need help on writing something

Hi everyone,

I need help writing a sentence. I was going to order a gift for someone and i wanted to write an inscription on it. On of the makers choice was 気調 wich he translated as "ki o totonoeru". I am still not use to read in japanese but what i see there is " ki totono" and that all. I would have written 気を調える instead because i think it's the right way to write it. So is 気調 ok or i need to write 気を調える?

Also I wanted to add the year to it. So would 二千十一 be acceptable or there is a proper way to write it in japanese?

What do they say 気を調える means?

A quick google shows it mainly associated with yoga or spas where it is literally adjusting ki rather than used as an idiom.
Panasonic has 気調　as part of a trademark relating to air conditioners where it is きちょう　

If it is an idiom I'd say the hiragana is important to the meaning.

For a date you need to add 年 at the end. ２０１１年
If you want to use kanji I'd say it is more common when using kanji to write 平成二十三年　Heisei nijyuu san nen. Although even here arabic numerals are far more common. 平成２３年
