A couple of questions! :)

Postby LindsayGrieveson9787 » August 7th, 2010 6:17 pm

I got inspired by JapanesePod and a friend and I are wanting to start our own Japanese radio show on Youtube! It won't be teaching or anything, it will just be us rambling on about random subjects! We kind of want it to be funny (comedy). I already have some things written down but I'm not advanced in Japanese at all so I'll probably be here often asking little things like this! Sumimasen!

The thing I want to ask is how would you say these things in Japanese:

"You can't say that"
"Let's move on" or "Shall we move on"
"Please enjoy it" or "We hope you enjoy it"
"This is our first show"
"How about a song" or "Let's play a song"

That's all I need for now (I think)!

Please be as accurate as possible as we wanna try and do a good job hehe!
Ah also, romaji is fine, I don;t know a huge amount of kanji.

有難うございます!

Ahhh any ideas are welcomed too! We want to keep it fresh and funny! Of course we will mention JapanesePod, whom we could never learn Japanese without! :kanpai:

I'm not very good, so don't take my word for it. Just as practice, I'll try a few. There's no context in your questions, so there's some guessing here.

1) Maybe そんなに言えない or そんなに言わない, or something else, depending on context.
2) How about 次にしよう?

Maybe posting more of the script would help.

This is what I have drafted out so far. I expect it has a few mistakes, though.

Irashaimase! (I know that's wrong, it supposed to be. ^^)
Idiot, You can't say that...
Minnasan Konnichiha! Watashi tachi no shou wa hajimete desu!
(This is our first show)?
Ja hajimeru. (Then, let's begin)?
Jikoshyoukai imasu (I will introduce myself)?
(name) desu. Yoroshiku Onegaishimasu!
(name 2) desu. Yoroshiku!

Ja, (name2)-chan, kyou no daizai wa nan desu ka (So, what is today's subject)?
Eh!? Sore wo Shirimasen! (What!? I don't know that!) (As in, nobody told me. ^^)

That's just a draft, I'm sure a lot of it is wrong. After this part, we look for a topic to discuss then play a song or something I dunno... Then end it. Since it's just a test run I don't wanna make it too long. The person in red is kinda like an enthusiastic idiot character. The blue one is more serious and maybe a little mean.

I don't wanna give away any more of the script I have though. ^^

First of all, I'm likely not any better than you are at this. :)

Well, you could say "idiot" as "バカ", but that's pretty strong language. Depends on your intent. For very informal language, I'd likely guess something like:

”いらさひませ”? 何って? 違うよ!

Maybe 僕たち instead of わたしたち if you want to maintain a more informal tone.

It's します after じこしょうかい

ちゃん goes after a female name.

I'd use トピック instead of だいざい, depending on what's being introduced.

しりません might have a connotation something more like, "I haven't bothered to learn that", or "What does that have to do with me". I'd guess something like, "まだ分かりません, maybe drop the まだ、depending on what you're trying to convey.

hope this could help you out.

"You can't say that"
まさか。そんな。

"Let's move on" or "Shall we move on"

それではorところで。

"Please enjoy it" or "We hope you enjoy it"
楽しんできてね(friendly),楽しんできてくださいね(formal)
お土産よろしくね~(between a friend)it doesn't mean "buy me some souvenir" it's like a idiom.

"This is our first show"
今日がライブ初めてなんです

"How about a song" or "Let's play a song"
それでは聞いてください。or では一曲。
