Offering help

Postby brentad » February 24th, 2010 3:08 pm

Sometimes, the simplest things can seem so hard to say; maybe you can help me learn how to offer help. How do I say the following in Japanese:

can I help you write a letter?

Poor attempt:

tegami wo kaku no ni tasukemashoka?

no wo tetsudau (in whatever conjugation you prefer)

fyi tasukeru is a transitive verb and must take wo also.

OK, I think I have it, "Can I help you write a letter?" is:

tegami wo kaku koto wo tasukette iidesuka?

or

tegami wo kaku koto wo tasukemashooka?

Thanks!
