Just a little advice if possible

Postby ned1972 » May 6th, 2009 1:29 pm

Hello,
I have been listening frequently to the podcasts that are available freely, and I have several japanese books and kanji learning resources. However, I have just recently subscribed to the site which gave me access to the kanji close-up and lesson notes.

My question is this: What method of study to typical students pursue with the close-up and lesson notes in order to master the language. I do not have anyone to practice japanese with though I do watch anime frequently. How would you recommend that I approach my learning in order to get myself moving along with my studies.

Any suggestions?

In my humble opinion, these are the best ways to learn Japanese well:

- Find a pen pal
- Make note cards
- Find a tutor
- Take a college class, if you can manage
- Watch Japanese dramas

Among any other things that would help you memorize.

You might find my post in this thread useful. I liked the beginner S1 series since it introduces almost all of the grammar in the dictionary I recommended (which you can use to reinforce the grammar points), and gives you more than enough to pass JLPT4+3, with a bunch of additional cultural notes and contemporary vocabulary to give you that extra edge over the classroom stiffs.
