しなさい vs してください

Postby stevesayskanpai » November 13th, 2008 2:04 am

Hi all!

Trying to fill in gaps in my knowledge. Whats the difference between these two- is the former less polite?

For example...

この用紙に記入しなさい
この用紙に記入して下さい。

ありがとう!

Yes, なさい is less polite. It's not an outright order, but more a firm request, rather as a teacher would issue to his students.
