Premium Plus Subscription

Postby Trav_man » October 2nd, 2008 6:03 pm

Has anyone tried the Premium Plus Subscription? Is it worth it?
Also, I have read/heard many concerns/complaints about Skype's service and security. Has anyone used Skype and what was your experience with it?

I haven't a clue about the premium plus, but I use Skype a -lot-. I even bothered to pay for unlimited minutes to landlines, and an incoming line.

Granted, I use a netgear Skype handset rather than a computer, but the call quality is amazing. Even when I've tried it with the PC and my crappy headphones, the call quality has been great.

I started using Skype recently, and don't have any complaints. It seems more sturdy and has better sound quality than Yahoo or MSN, and it's easy to get straight into a call with someone.

If you can find yourself a language exchange friend, you can have hours of Japanese conversation for free, and even inquire about the occasional usage point

I had my level analysis for my plus subscription and it was a lot of fun. It's amazing how much more sticks when you're speaking to someone. Definitely worth it. And skype worked pretty well. We got cut off toward the end, but reconnected right away so it wasn't a big deal. The only thing is that the lessons need to be done by Tokyo time, which in the U.S. isn't a big deal if you don't mind staying up a bit.
