yeah...
the construction is actually のだ (no da)
the conjunctive form (~て form) of のだ is ので
な is added because she's probably adding the のだ to an english sentence.
the english sentence becomes nominalized and the copula だ becomes な
then you add ので to continue the explanation.
in this context ので functions like から
なので is like だから
as ochazukeさん said, it's like "because" or "that's why" or "since"
