Microbiology jobs in Japan

Hi,

I'm trying to make a difficult decision regarding study. I have a japanese wife, and we currently live in Australia. She is a qualified Nurse, but it appears as though her Australian Bachelors degree will not be valid for a nurses licence in Japan.

So it appears it may be up to me to find the work - i'm currently looking at either a bachelor of IT with a major in Software Engineering, or a Bachelor of Applied Science with a major in Microbiology. IT jobs appear to be relatively prevalent, but I cant find any info on getting work in the science / lab field relating to microbiology... Does anyone have any experience in this? (Assume i have a high level of Japanese proficiency).
