How much cash do you need to go over with?

Can anyone tell me how much cash they took to Japan and did it run out before your first paycheck?

I'm still trying to sell things here to have more money, and want to know what is a good amount to take? For the first month or so I probably won't be spending a lot so I can get a handle on my budget.

I can't speak from experience, but I've heard estimates of taking at least $2000-$4000 to be safe.

That's what I've estimated.

I guess I'm getting nervous about if this is the right company to work for. I'm still going to interview with ECC Japan and see what they have to say.

I spent about 50,000yen between the time I got to Japan and my first full paycheck. (about 2 months) But I didn't have to worry about rent, it was deducted from my paycheck (so my 1st actual paycheck was about 5000yen)

You can live frugally here if you have to

I am speaking from Experience. I got here July 24th, and I get my first real paycheck on the 15th of September. I am down to about 20000 Yen, and I came with about 300000. I go out to eat about twice a day, and party about twice a week. I hope this helps! You will have an amazing time here, Japan is wicked!!

I would bring as much as you can because you will want money in case of any emergency not just for general living expenses.

BTW, what's up every one. New here.

i would rather recommend you get insurance to cover the cost of any possible emergency.
