I'm taking 3-kyuu this December in Chicago, along with one of my classmates. I'm also going to make a long weekend of it, because Chicago is a fun city.

Judging from the practice tests here, I'm really good with kanji and grammar, but my reading comprehension... needs work. I haven't tried any listening comprehension tests yet.

Good luck to everyone taking the JLPT this year! I got all geared up and put together all of my studying force, just to find out that I missed the deadline!!

I'm going to study hard the next few months as though I were taking it, anyway. I always work better with a dedline, something to panic and cram over!

Oh man...... Only about a month or so away. How's everyone doing?

I've been taking a lot of practice tests, then going back over the parts I have difficulty with. Listening is definitely my weakness, hands down. I dunno, the test's listening section seems tougher than when I listen to Jpod101, etc.

Is it possible to still pass even if you do poor on the listening? I'm pretty confident with the vocab and reading comprehension sections, but worried about how I'm going to do on the listening.

Wishing everyone the best of luck in our final month of preparation! :D

Rizu, you can fail a section and still pass if your overall score is high enough.

I've been nervous and a bit stressed about it, but now that it's so close, I'm actually kind of excited! Gotta get myself into a positive frame of mind... :)

PHEW. Just got in from NYC. Think I did just OK. I did worse than I anticipated on the listening, but was fairly confident on the other two sections. If I even pass, I probably just made the mark. Still, it was a neat experience and I've learned a lot on the road to 三級!

Looking forward to hearing everyone else's impressions of the exam. Hope you all did great! :D

2級 in Ji'nan, Shandong

I was prepping 6 months ago and kicking butt... then... all the sudden it's under 30 days to go and I haven't even taken any practice tests yet. Dead meat I am.
