seems like a lot of people are taking the level 3 test. i think the intermediate lessons here are perfect for level 3. (just a personal opinion). hey i'm just wondering... fernandadesu, have you taken your exam at the time when you post your message?

Finished the test

Postby JohnCBriggs » December 4th, 2006 4:21 am

Minnasan,
Well I just got back from a long day, but mission accomplished. I completed the JLPT Level 3. For now, I happy just to be done with it. Guess I will know the result some time in March.

If there is anyone with a good memory, perhaps you can tell me the answer to the question あにの せがたださ___ I think some of the choices were つかまいました, くらべました,、わすれました
Congratulations to all that completed the test and let's meet back here in the forums in March to share the results, whatever they may be.

okay i sort of remember that question.
but i thought the question was 兄と背が高さ_ (あにとせがたかさ_)
anyway, i picked 'くらべました' at the end.
sorry i'm just another 3級 student, this is just my own answer...
i have no idea what the correct answer is.

Theresachan,
Thank you for your reply. I have had two other people tell me the same thing so that is probably right.

After the fact but I took 3級 in Seattle. Should have taken 4級...

I'd never been to Seattle before so I figured, "Why not?" Great city, but an awful long way to go to probably have bombed that test. Oh well, the experience has been de-mystified, so next year is a cinch, right?

I'm an APU student. I had to take JLPT 3 at the end of the 1st semester of studying here, but the kind of JLPT we took is not the standard one. I think it was compiled by our professors.
So how many percent is a good result? I got 74% out of that. It's not a standard exam so it's hard to compare though.

60% is a pass for JLPT 4, 3, & 2. 70% is a pass for JLPT 1.

I assume your professor compiled it by grabbing bits and pieces from the exams from years past, so it's probably relatively accurate, although there are changes made in the JLPT "curriculum" now and then.

Though, the scoring is a bit weird on the JLPT- not all questions are worth the same number of points, and that can make a huge difference depending on where your strengths and weaknesses are.
