New Year's Prayer (正月/shogatsu)

Postby beyourownlight » December 28th, 2009 5:42 pm

I want to write a prayer for the new year, like one you'd write on an ema or say at hatsumode, but I'm not sure if there is a standard form to follow or even if my novice attempt is anywhere near correct. If anyone could provide any insight or help, I'd greatly appreciate it!

I'd like to say something like: I pray for good health, good fortune, and success in the next year. This is what I've got:

来年の成功と健康と幸運を祈ります。

I'm not sure at all if my sentence structure is correct, but other questions bug me about it, too(Should it be new year...or next year?).

Thanks for any help!!
